Patricia Alvitez

Actor, Dancer

I was born in Peru where I studied ballet a La Escuela National de Ballet and acting at La Asociacion de Artistas Aficionados and Club de Teatro de Lima. Ballet opened the doors to other kinds of performing arts such as live shows and television. I moved to the states in the late 80’s and after a brief pause, I joined the Peninsula Ballet school where I later became a Company member. Years later I moved to Portland, but I was not able to return to ballet due to an injury so I explored the world of Ballroom and Latin dances. I participated in Pro Am competitions in Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles and joined a formation team here in Portland. I was hired as the Bolero dancer for the musical Grand Hotel at Lakewood Theatre in 2013. Since then, performing has become a part of my life once again. Other theatre credits are Young Frankenstein also at Lakewood Theatre, Five Day of the Dead productions, Watsonville a Place Not Here, La Segua and Wolf at the Door at Milagro Theatre and La Ruta at Artist Repertory Theatre. I also had the opportunity to work on two short films one and various TV commercials. Currently, I study Flamenco dance and work as a freelance artist mostly doing pet portraits. I am an animal lover, a curious, passionate person and I believe that traveling and seeing the world and experiencing other cultures is the best way to understand humanity.

Our Mission

Artists Repertory Theatre’s mission is to produce intimate, provocative theatre and provide a home for a diverse community of artists and audiences to take creative risks.

Land Acknowledgement

ART acknowledges that our theatre rests on land that was stolen from indigenous communities. It belongs to the Cowlitz, Chinook, Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, and the Siletz — tribes that remain present, strong and vibrant.

ANTI-RACIST STATEMENT
Artists Repertory Theatre recognizes that we are a predominately white organization and operate within systemic racism and oppression, and that silence and neutrality are actions of complicity. We recognize the critical role the arts play in our culture and national conversation, and accept our responsibility to make positive change through our work, our practices, and our policies. We commit ourselves to the work of becoming an anti-racism and anti-oppression organization, and will work with urgency to end racial inequities in our industry and our culture.

Artists Repertory Theatre is recognized as a tax-exempt non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; tax ID number 93-0828781. Your contribution qualifies as a charitable contribution under the IRS Code.
