Sube Y Baja
In Development
written by Francisco Garcia
On July 28, 2019, three pink teeter-totters were briefly placed on the border wall of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas, which stands on the most-crossed border in the world and a continual site of political divide. For 40 minutes, these teeter-totters brought children and adults together to a wall that was made to keep them apart. It was also a symbol showing that actions that take place on one side have a direct consequence to the other side. Sube y Baja is a fictional story inspired by this event and deals with two children from opposite countries, who come together for a brief moment and share in the joy, excitement, and heartbreak of riding a simple playground toy.
