A Guide to a Director’s Process in Rehearsal
January
with Dámaso Rodríguez
This 4-hour workshop is designed to share tools for being prepared, collaborative, and productive during the fast-paced professional regional theatre rehearsal process. The workshop will include: an overview of the audition room, rehearsal room, and on-set collaboration standards; textual analysis techniques for classical and contemporary scripts; an approach to the first day of rehearsal “on your feet” (i.e., Blocking Rehearsals); and simple approaches to making bold, active acting choices. This is a practical workshop that will yield results for actors, as well as directors looking for techniques to streamline their tablework or staging process.
