Cuba Libre

German Alexander

Actor

GERMAN ALEXANDER (Alonso) is grateful to make his Artists Rep debut with this new vibrant work. German has the honor of being the last “Bernardo” that the great Arthur Laurents cast and so originated the role on the first national revival tour of West Side Story, in which he won the Broadway World Award for Best Featured Actor in a Touring Musical. He recently was seen reprising this role for Sacramento Music Circus’s 2015 summer production of West Side Story. He’s also had the pleasure of working alongside Alice Ripley, Greg Jbara, and Chad Kimball in Michael John LaChiusa’s intimate musical Little Fish, where he originated the role of John Paul in the L.A. Original Cast and Cast Recording.

Other regional credits include Aladdin in Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular (Disney’s Hyperion Theater), Bobby in Julian Po (L.A. Workshop Reading), Avram in Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific, The Music Man, and Evita (Sacramento Music Circus).

TV guest star credits include NBC’s Medium, Revenge (pilot), and Telemundo’s La Ley Del Silencio (pilot), as well as a comedy skit for an episode of The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno. Film: Every Little Step.

Thanks to Amy, Dámaso, and Suzie for this great opportunity, and to his family for all their support. He is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and SAG/AFTRA.  Instagram: @germanlikethelanguage

Our Mission

Artists Repertory Theatre’s mission is to produce intimate, provocative theatre and provide a home for a diverse community of artists and audiences to take creative risks.

Land Acknowledgement

ART acknowledges that our theatre rests on land that was stolen from indigenous communities. It belongs to the Cowlitz, Chinook, Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, and the Siletz — tribes that remain present, strong and vibrant.

ANTI-RACIST STATEMENT
Artists Repertory Theatre recognizes that we are a predominately white organization and operate within systemic racism and oppression, and that silence and neutrality are actions of complicity. We recognize the critical role the arts play in our culture and national conversation, and accept our responsibility to make positive change through our work, our practices, and our policies. We commit ourselves to the work of becoming an anti-racism and anti-oppression organization, and will work with urgency to end racial inequities in our industry and our culture.

Artists Repertory Theatre is recognized as a tax-exempt non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; tax ID number 93-0828781. Your contribution qualifies as a charitable contribution under the IRS Code.
