Finding the Beat: The Musicality of Playwriting
with Anton C. Jones
A play doesn’t need to be a musical or an opera to have musicality. Additionally, a playwright does not need to be a musician to find the musicality of their play. This 10-week course approaches the craft of playwriting through a musician’s lens. Through exercises that explore tempo, dynamics, rhythm, lyricism and more, we will seek to find the soul and the beat of our scripts.
April 12 to June 14, Mondays (10 Classes)
Join award-winning playwright and Artistic Director Anton C. Jones for his thoughts and insights about playwriting as you draft your own play or work on a script already in progress.
