Poundo Gomis
Ensemble
POUNDO “SWEET” GOMIS (Ensemble) is grateful to make her Artists Rep debut with this new play. Poundo, a native of Guinea Bissau and Senegal, born and raised in Paris, France, and a student of multi-disciplinary studies in dance, singing and acting.
A multi-field artist, you could compare her to a Swiss knife: always ready to whip out the heels, detailed nail designs and lavish clothing, as well as whipping her pony tail and singing a song to end up in a split. Poundo has worked with choreographers such as Bill T. Jones, Cirque du Soleil, Opéra de Paris star dancer Marie-Claude Pietragalla, Luam Keflegzy, Raphaelle Delaunay, Georges Momboye, film director Anne Fontaine and stage director Jérôme Savary. Recently, she worked as a vocalist for Grammy-winning band The Roots, Ismael & The Radiant Select and Boubacar Kafando.
Special thanks to Maija Garcia for being a true inspiration in her artistic path, her family and her bubus. She is a proud member of Actors Equity Association. Follow on Twitter @poundogomis.
