EZRI GALBAN REYES was raised in San Jose, California by his loving community of practicing Filipino artists. Born a Magic-Sing karaoke fiend, Ez’s passion for music and audience participation is the foundation for all their theatre projects. Through cherished mentors, YouTube University, curiosity, time, and will, Ez has become a multi-instrumentalist. They believe the experience of sound can transform not only, say, the artfully lit stage of a mid-size theatre, but also the greater world. From atmospheric atonal synth, to a nostalgic ringtone, a four-chord folk song, to thousands of voices chanting as one, music can shape hearts and minds by telling stories and connecting memory to full-body feelings. In alignment with her friends, Ez is dead-set that genuinely accessible, diverse, and collaborative theatre-making combats oppressive systems toward inevitable global shifts. Until people are put over profit everywhere, we must acknowledge the fuckery we see and organize locally.
