with Anton C. Jones
It’s the director’s job to ask, “Why?” It’s the playwright’s job to ask, “Why Not?” Taking this as a foundation, writers of all levels will explore the craft of playwriting from blank slate through the first draft. Participants will explore dialogue, as well as gain a greater understanding of many other elements of playwriting and playmaking that feed into the blueprint known as a “script.” During this class, your writing will be read out loud by actors to help you evaluate your work as you develop your writing.
January 25 to March 15 Mondays (8 Classes)
Join award-winning playwright and Artistic Director Anton C. Jones for his thoughts and insights about playwriting as you draft your own play or work on a script already in progress.
Suggested Accompanying Classes: Dramaturgy for the Audience, Theatre on Film, Good for a Laugh, Queer Drama
