On Camera Acting

with Shelly Lipkin

Relaxation is the key. Reacting is the core.

In this class, we will explore how to develop the inner emotional life of a character, how to react – not perform, how to feel relaxed, comfortable and focused when the director says “Action.” You will learn how to remove self-conscious behavior and how to fill a character, which is the key to a creative and natural on camera performance.

June 7 – July 26, Mondays (8 Classes)
Some outside work will be required.

Suggested Accompanying Class: A Director’s Perspective for Actors & Directors, Acting I or II, Monologue Intensive, Acting in the Zoomiverse, Physical Character Lab, Musical Theatre Audition and Performance, Finding Meaning Today: Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream or Public Speaking for Everyone.
