Zak Westfall
Zak Westfall
Actor
Zak is originally from the east coast, growing up in Rochester, NY and getting his MFA in Acting at Florida Atlantic University before moving to Portland and jumping head first into the exciting, welcoming and inclusive theatre community here. His first role in town was Pentheus in Bakkhai (Shaking the Tree Theatre) followed by a Guest Artist position (Portland Actors Conservatory) as Charlie in Never In My Lifetime. Zak has played a variety of roles over the years ranging from Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night to Captain Jack Absolute in The Rivals, and Flotsam in The Little Mermaid where he performed wholly in Heely’s. Zak’s teaching is rooted in the Alexander Technique which he began studying in graduate school and looks forward to becoming a certified practitioner in the future. He approaches acting, and speaking, with ease and warmth and encourages the inspired use of the imagination to overcome both physical and mental obstacles by using the breath, the body-mind connection, and the work of Michael Chekhov.
