Alec Kalled

Alec Kalled

Alec Kalled

Alec Kalled is an Arab-American theatre artist specializing in acting, teaching, and arts administration. New to the Portland, OR area, Alec is committed to curating culturally diverse spaces that support and uplift local artists. Alec has produced theatre with Plan-B Theatre Company (Full Color, Just Add Water) as an actor and resident teaching artist based out of SLC, UT where he travelled with Plan-B’s Free Elementary School Tour (Alli & #3, Ballet for Aliens, SQUEAK, EllaMental) exposing professional theatre to students without regular access to the arts. Alec has also collaborated with Salt Lake Acting Company (Bald Sisters), Good Company Theatre (Fremont Junior High is Not Doing Oklahoma), Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival (Innovation, Wallpaper, Wild Swimming) and many more. “Grounding even the most surreal moments in recognizable humanity, Kalled’s comic precision makes the absurd feel plausible and the political feel personal.” Keolanani Kinghorn; The Rhetorical Review.

Alec grew up in the sticks of New Hampshire and cultivated a love for theatre which brought him to Salt Lake City where he studied at Westminster University. After completing his BFA, Alec relocated to Southern Florida to pursue his MFA with Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Alec currently serves as Artists Rep Box Office Associate. @aleckalled

Our Mission

Artists Repertory Theatre’s mission is to produce intimate, provocative theatre and provide a home for a diverse community of artists and audiences to take creative risks.

Land Acknowledgement

ART acknowledges that our theatre rests on land that was stolen from indigenous communities. It belongs to the Cowlitz, Chinook, Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, and the Siletz — tribes that remain present, strong, and vibrant.

ANTI-RACIST STATEMENT
Artists Repertory Theatre recognizes that we are a predominantly white organization and operate within systemic racism and oppression, and that silence and neutrality are actions of complicity. We recognize the critical role the arts play in our culture and national conversation, and accept our responsibility to make positive change through our work, our practices, and our policies. We commit ourselves to the work of becoming an anti-racism and anti-oppression organization, and will work with urgency to end racial inequities in our industry and our culture.

Artists Repertory Theatre is recognized as a tax-exempt non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; tax ID number 93-0828781. Your contribution qualifies as a charitable contribution under the IRS Code.
