Finding Meaning Today: Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

….So sayeth a fairy in Shakespeare’s magical and poetical comedy of love and merry madness, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
We will examine the play, itself, as well as our relationship to it. For some this will be a lovely revisiting of the palaces and woods in Midsummer’s Athens, while the delightful story, for others, may be brand new. “Finding Meaning Today” provides opportunities for students of all ages and levels of experience to read, interpret, and embody the play. We will look carefully at character, theme, and action by devoting each week of class to an act of the play, while letting Shakespeare lead us into his world. Scenes and speeches will be assigned for more detailed exploration. This class will be invigorating and illuminating for actors, theatre-lovers, or anyone who either loves or fears Shakespeare. This class is for everybody!

Before each class, students will be sent an email with a link to login and any class-specific instructions.
Generally, students are encouraged to have a notepad & a pencil for note-taking.
Students are checked-in by name via the class roster, so no additional ticket or receipt is required!
Refunds and Exchange Policy
Artists Rep does not offer refunds for purchased classes.
Exchanges can be made on a case-by-case basis.
If Artists Rep cancels a class, the class will either be rescheduled or refunded.
