Summer Conservatory for Teens, Week Two
Scene work, Script Analysis, Movement and Meisner Technique
with Michael Mendelson, Chris Harder, Barbie Wu, Sarah Lucht, Linda Hayden
Artists Rep is pleased to offer two five-day workshops for high school students this summer!
These courses are for those entering high school in the fall, current high school students, and those that just graduated with the Class of 2020. Students are welcome to enroll in one or both courses! There is a 10% discount when registering for both classes.
While our classes typically take place in the rehearsal studios at Artist Repertory Theatre (Zidell location), we are excited to adapt our courses to help students connect and grow during this challenging time of COVID-19. These classes will be taught using the Zoom format. When it is safe to do so, we will resume our in-person programs, but in the meantime, our teaching artists have developed an on-line program, and we’d love to have you join us.
Week Two. This week will concentrate on scene work, understanding the script, and bringing the text to life. Each day will consist of physical and vocal work to support characterization, Meisner technique to cultivate focus and connection, and nuts and bolts work on a contemporary scene. Students will learn and apply the various techniques to the work, creating emotionally truthful, compelling performances, and deepening their knowledge of approaching character and story-telling.
