Summer Conservatory for Teens, Week One

Audition Training, Movement and Mindfulness

with Michael Mendelson, Chris Harder, Barbie Wu, Sarah Lucht, Linda Hayden

Artists Rep is pleased to offer two five-day workshops for high school students this summer!

These courses are for those entering high school in the fall, current high school students, and those that just graduated with the Class of 2020. Students are welcome to enroll in one or both courses! There is a 10% discount when registering for both classes.

While our classes typically take place in the rehearsal studios at Artist Repertory Theatre (Zidell location), we are excited to adapt our courses to help students connect and grow during this challenging time of COVID-19. These classes will be taught using the Zoom format. When it is safe to do so, we will resume our in-person programs, but in the meantime, our teaching artists have developed an on-line program, and we’d love to have you join us.

Week One. Auditions are an integral part of any performer’s life and opportunities are everywhere – school plays, BFA programs, and professional productions. Week one of Artists Rep Summer Conservatory will focus on monologues and audition preparation, as well as dedicated time to physical work, such as yoga, breathing techniques, and other movement centered exercises. Students will develop their audition skills with customized feedback and coaching that will polish their interpretation, characterization, and presentation. Students will come away from the week with one polished monologue ready for school auditions or university admissions, as well as a sense of confidence, physical ease, and energy.
