Tracy Letts will adapt 3 Sisters for the 2008-2009
Season

and The Man from Nebraska will pen Artists

Tracy Letts, Steppenwolf company member and
author of Bug and Killer Joe, has just
agreed to create a world premiere adaptation of 3
Sisters for Artists Repertory Theatre.
To accomodate this sensational news, Artists Rep's
production of 3 Sisters will be postponed for
a year. To take its place in the 2007/2008 season will be a
new avant garde production of A Streetcar Named
Desire, envisioned through the eyes of an older (and
institutionalized) Blanche DuBois and directed by Jon
Kretzu.
We are thrilled to have the
privelege of commissioning such an awesome talent for the next
leg of our 4 year Chekhov Project. It will continue Artists
Rep's commitment to the very finest regional and national
artists, providing a home where theatrical artists from William
Hurt to Tracy Letts to Portland's own Tim True and Allen Nause
are free to do their very finest work.
We look forward to sharing this amazing piece of work with
you. And here's a tip- the best way to get great seats for that
show will be to lock in your season seats by subscribing
this year in our two newly reconfigured theaters.
Renewal Packets will be arriving in the mail shortly. Or
pick up a brochure in the lobby when you see the show
and guarantee your great seats for
next season.
